Can I buy an inexpensive bluetooth capable cell phone and use it on my verizon plan?

I don’t want to have to bother with their commitment plans. I just want to buy a bluetooth capable cell phone that will work on the Alltell (now Verizon) system. Is this possible?

Verizon will only allow Verizon-branded phones on its network.

  1. You can buy inexpensive phones for almost any company through third party retailers, like pawn shops. That’s one of the only ways to get them without having to mess with your account. Just make sure you tell them you want something that works for Alltell so you don’t get something that’s incompatible.

  4. Yes, but it will have to be activated by Verizon and attached to your account. So you will want to make sure it is compatible with Verizon’s CDMA system.
